Prokofiev Piano Sonata No. 3 with AI animation by Andy Cheng and Nicole Yim
The AI Animation project was initiated with the thought of transforming classical music visually understandable. This animation represented the understanding and interpretation of the music on the performer's thoughts. With the help of modern AI technology, it visualized our performer's imagination through animations. In the beginning, the horse is galloping which represents justice embodiment. As the horse gallops, it slowly transforms into many ghosts, which represents the evil side of humans. Then the music turns slowly, the animation shows a fantasy world of the old pastoral life, and then the animation suddenly returns to reality, bringing back the theme of the struggles for justice and evil. In the end, the animation brings back the galloping horse, a victory of justice. The animation is based on a theme of "Scherzo-ish", which reminisces the humorous and mockery characteristics of Prokofiev's music.
