A Journey to Regaining Inner Strength

A Journey to Regaining Inner Strength

Under the shadow of the long-lingering pandemic, recent research finds young children suffering from study pressure and developing anxiety unconsciously.  In hope to help raise awareness amongst parents in the mental healthiness of their children and suggest early intervention by strengthening their mental resilience, the Student Recruitment and Community Engagement Office had organised a workshop for releasing pressure in a sustainable and self-sufficient way through sound. Over a hundred of underprivileged young children and their family members were invited to participate.

We were privileged to invite renowned scenographer and singing bowl artist Tsang Man-tung, our alumnus from the School of TEA, to bring our audiences to a journey to regaining awareness of one’s self and inner strength.  Tsang led the audience to walk pass flowing waters and experience the change of day and night in a thoughtfully presented singing bowl performance.  By the power of the sonorous and soothing sound and breathing practice, the audiences were gradually drawn to slow down so that they could relax and make peace with themselves.

We were glad to be able to share performing arts with the needed community and let arts speak to people in this meaningful event.  We look forward to future opportunities that help bring arts and people together.
