The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (the Academy) welcomes the decision of the Chief Executive’s support in a teaching facilities and student hostel building project for the Academy as mentioned in her Policy Address this morning.
Professor Stephen Chow, Chairman of the Academy Council, thanks the government for its strong support which will allow the Academy to build a creative hub that provides students with an environment conducive to learning that enables more creative and social interaction across different art forms, enriching students’ personal development and learning experience.
Professor Adrian Walter, Director of the Academy and Professor Gillian Choa, Director-designate of the Academy, are very pleased with the decision of the government. The Academy will soon conduct a feasibility study on the proposal.
Meanwhile, the Academy has actively been integrating technology and performing arts in the review of its programmes in the past few years as suggested in the Policy Address. The Academy believes that the promotion of arts technology is currently a major trend, and is therefore already a major focus of the Academy.
